About Me

Hello! I was born in Mexico, raised in Massachusetts and learned to adult in Colorado. Now I'm in West Virginia trying to become a better journalist. Why mention any of this? Well, simply because I believe that journalism is as much a reflection of the person writing the stories as it is a mirror of the subjects within. 

I've been a computer tech, retail employee, food server, tax paralegal and film projectionist. And now, I'm taking all that experience and exposure to people from different walks of life to explore a state I know next to nothing about, West Virginia. 

And so far, it's been great. I've found a state that's complex, dynamic, full of contradictions and optimism. And my goal is to capture all of that through my writing and photography. 

I'm always keeping an eye out for new opportunities. I've learned much but still have more to learn, and as long as I can, I plan to keep going further.
